Icons

I love to let the places I travel to inspire and inform my art practise. Here I have been influenced by the traditional icon paintings from the Byzantine to the Renaissance. Traditional gilding a pure 24k gold leaf are incorporated into these artworks allowing them to illuminate in candlelight as was the tradition for many hundreds of years.
